Mexico’s Paloma Ibarra Ambia and Japan’s Soichiro Shinkawa captured titles at last week’s IJGA × NXXT College Pathway Series event at the championship caliber Bishops Gate Golf Club, held July 17–18. This Junior Golf Scoreboard-ranked event brought together rising stars from around the world in a mixed-gender championship format inspired by NXXT Golf’s groundbreaking Battle of the Sexes Pro Tour.

Ibarra Ambia posted rounds of 68–73 (–5, 141) to dominate the girls’ division, leading the tournament with 12 birdies—a testament to her precision and scoring prowess.

On the boys’ side, Shinkawa delivered a 69–74 (–3, 143) performance, including a spectacular opening round highlighted by six birdies and an eagle, proving himself as a rising force on the international stage.

This event welcomed players from seven countries, reinforcing the truly global caliber of the field and the competitive excellence of the IJGA × NXXT Series.

Collegiate Exposure Continues to Rise

Further enhancing the event’s value for players was the presence of NCAA coaches observing the action firsthand:

  • Nathalie Rodrigues da Silva, Head Coach – University of La Verne (NCAA Division III)

  • Arantza Armas, Assistant Coach – St. Mary’s University (NCAA Division II)

“We’re seeing international-level performances at every event,” said Stuart McKinnon, CEO of NXXT Golf. “These players are not only competing at a high level—they’re being seen by college coaches who recognize the opportunity to recruit true next-generation talent.”
